ZANDI

ZANDI

My work begins in a "sketchbook" where thoughts freely floating through my mind without a defined destination are released without constraint. Fleeting words or sentences that pass through my everyday life in an instant, or fragments of images glimpsed while wandering through the digital world become precious clues too valuable to simply let pass. I call these invisible, abstract imaginations onto the physical space of the canvas and "execute (exe.)" them into reality. The working process takes the form of a collage, freely arranging images collected from both daily life and the virtual world, much like opening multiple windows on a digital interface. The act of layering acrylic paint is a process of capturing elusive sensations using acrylic's inherent speed and giving them physical layers. The trajectory of honestly accumulated paint becomes evidence that the world in my mind has taken concrete form. The value most important to me is the "freedom of creation" unfettered by form or predetermined answers. Filling the canvas according to my heart's desire, freed from the compulsion to be perfect, is like a sanctuary of complete self-affirmation. My work does not present viewers with one definitive answer. I am curious how my "executions (exe.)" unfolded on the canvas, like commands executed by a computer, will be driven by some new imagination in each of your minds. Within this free world like a sketchbook, I hope each person's joyful imagination takes form. Through these sketchbook-like works that I draw honestly according to my heart rather than adhering to form, I hope those who view them will also freely unfold their own joyful imaginations.
