가람 민델레 작가 소개 가람 민델레는 서울을 기반으로 활동하는 독일 출신 아티스트이다. 그의 작업은 동화, 신화, 자연, 음악, 공연예술, 그리고 한국 문화에서 영감을 받아 환상적이고 서정적인 시각 서사를 구축한다. 아르누보와 한국 민화, 무대미술, 고전적 이야기 구조의 영향을 바탕으로 상징적인 인물과 감정이 담긴 장면들을 섬세하게 표현한다. 2025년 본격적으로 그림 작업을 재개한 이후, 1년이 채 되지 않는 기간 동안 한국에서 세 차례의 개인전을 개최하며 빠르게 활동 영역을 넓혀왔다. 또한 한국과 독일의 개인 소장가들에게 작품이 소장되었으며, 한국 위스키 브랜드 ‘압구정 마월’을 위한 오리지널 라벨 일러스트레이션 프로젝트를 진행하는 등 다양한 협업 활동을 이어가고 있다. 그는 시각예술 외에도 연기, 성우, 공연예술, 의상 및 무대 분야에서 활동한 경험을 가지고 있으며, 이러한 다양한 예술적 경험은 현재 작업의 이야기 구성과 분위기, 캐릭터 표현에 깊은 영향을 주고 있다. 현재 서울에서 거주하며 작업하고 있으며, 상상력과 아름다움, 신화, 그리고 내면의 변화와 성장을 주제로 한 새로운 프로젝트들을 지속적으로 발전시키고 있다. Karam Mindele is a German artist based in Seoul, South Korea. Inspired by fairy tales, mythology, nature, music, performance, and Korean culture, she creates poetic visual narratives that invite viewers into dreamlike worlds. Drawing influence from Art Nouveau, Korean Minhwa, stage design, and classical storytelling, her work combines symbolic figures with richly detailed compositions that explore imagination, emotion, and transformation. After returning to drawing in 2025, Mindele has quickly established her artistic practice, presenting three solo exhibitions in South Korea within her first year. Her works have entered private collections in both Korea and Germany, and she has collaborated with the Korean whisky brand Apgujeong Mawol, creating a series of original label illustrations. Alongside her visual art practice, Mindele has worked in acting, voice performance, theatre, costume, and stage production. These multidisciplinary experiences continue to shape the narrative structure, atmosphere, and expressive characters found throughout her illustrations. Currently based in Seoul, she continues to develop new bodies of work exploring imagination, beauty, mythology, and the quiet process of inner growth and transformation.

작가 노트 나의 작업은 이야기와 감정, 그리고 상상력이 만나는 꿈같은 세계를 그려내는 것에서 시작된다. 동화와 신화, 음악, 공연예술, 한국 문화, 그리고 자연에서 영감을 받아 아름다움과 경이로움, 그리고 사색의 순간을 담은 서정적인 일러스트레이션을 제작한다. 많은 작품은 한 곡의 음악, 무대 위의 한 장면, 오래된 이야기, 혹은 말로는 설명하기 어려운 감정에서 출발한다. 나는 여성 인물을 이야기의 주인공이자 상징적인 존재로 그려낸다. 섬세한 선과 유기적인 형태, 그리고 층위 있는 구성을 통해 현실과 환상이 자연스럽게 이어지는 시각적 서사를 만들어간다. 나의 작품이 잠시 멈추어 자신의 상상력과 내면의 목소리에 귀 기울이는 작은 쉼이 되기를 바란다. 그 안에서 관람객이 이미 마음속에 존재하는 자신만의 이야기와 다시 만날 수 있기를 희망한다. Artist Statement My work begins with creating dreamlike worlds where storytelling, emotion, and imagination come together. Inspired by fairy tales, mythology, music, performance, Korean culture, and the natural world, I create poetic illustrations that capture moments of beauty, wonder, and quiet reflection. Many of my works begin with a piece of music, a scene from the stage, an old story, or an emotion that cannot easily be expressed in words. The women who appear throughout my work are both protagonists and symbolic figures. Through delicate linework, organic forms, and layered compositions, I create visual narratives that move gently between reality and imagination. More than anything, I hope my work offers a moment to pause. A moment to reconnect with imagination, to listen to one's inner voice, and to rediscover the stories that have quietly existed within us all along.
